5th Annual International Resort Real Estate Summit

The Mexican Association of Professional Real Estate Agents (A.M.P.I.), has announced its plans for its fifth International Resort Real Estate Summit. The Summit will be held in Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, at the Paradise Village Resort this June 25th to 27th of 2015.

The 2015 A.M.P.I. International Real Estate Summit (A.I.R.E.S.), will highlight the emerging market trends and opportunities present in both master planned resort communities, as well as luxury beach front properties in areas of Mexico such as Cancun, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta. Special keynote speakers will be present during conferences and panel discussions, to share their expertise, covering various subjects relative to the international market, such as the many baby boomer investments in San Miguel de Allende and other retirement havens, as well as other key topics such as Eco resort development, medical/health tourism, investment in Canada, and procedures for international transactions and investments.

Swearing-in ceremony for the local AMPI Chapters

Antonio Hánna Grayeb, national president for Mexico’s Real Estate Professionals Association (AMPI) presided over the swearing-in ceremony for the local chapter presidents in Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit and Compostela: Harriet Murray, Jonathon Smart and Juan José Martínez, respectively.

Hánna Grayeb was joined by the organization’s vice-president, Gustavo Solares Campos, and by AMPI Riviera Nayarit vice-president Fabian O’rourke, who welcomed those present at the ceremony. Jorge Villanueva Hernández, president for the Puerto Vallarta and Banderas Bay Business Association, served as witness.

The National President took the opportunity to address the membership and share that the organization’s national council is working on three specific goals for the current year: positioning of the AMPI brand, seek congress approval of the federal real estate license, and updating the organization’s “Green Book”. In addition, he mentioned the AMPI SUMMIT, a major event to take place in Riviera Nayarit, among the organization’s keystone events for the current year. It is expected that these events will allow for constant evolution and positioning of the organization’s brand, by encouraging new chapters, such as Compostela, to partner with Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, as they fulfill their goals.

Spanish Night at Isla Palmares

This past Wednesday, March 25th a party at the most pure Spanish style was held in Isla Palmares Condominiums Development, inside El Tigre Golf Course, a great night in which friends and personalities of the local real estate business community gathered together. Successful Puerto Vallarta Real Estate Fair 2015!

Once again the third annual Vallarta Real Estate Fair held Saturday March 28th offered many local residents, tourists, buyers and sellers of real estate the information they were looking for.

With a great attendance many visitors to the Fair were thrilled with the information that was available on such topics as available healthcare, insurance, property management and rentals, interior design solutions, title and escrow services, real estate photography, dental care, investment banking in Mexico, accounting and legal services.

With two sessions of conferences participants had the opportunity to ask the professionals about changes in Mexico’s Capital Gains tax laws, Mortgages for the foreign buyer, how to handle Capital Gains tax in the US on the sale of Mexican vacation homes, how to handle rental income in Mexico and the US, and who needs to report foreign bank accounts to the IRS. Also available were professionals to help prepare attendees to successfully rent their vacation homes and explain what pitfalls to look for in property management.

Punta Mita announces new luxury development

DINE, the master developer of Punta Mita (situated at the northern point of Banderas Bay), and JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle), together have announced a new luxury condominium development called Las Marietas to be situated along the 18th hole of Punta Mita’s Jack Nicklaus Signature Bahia golf course.

Open House at Ocho Cascadas
