Costa Nayarit starts at the northerly point of Banderas Bay at Punta Mita and follows the coastline northward. By road, you can access this coastline by following highway #200 out of Bucerias, or by taking the North Shore route through La Cruz out to Punta de Mita.

South of the Bay of Banderas starts the coastline of Costalegre. It stretches from El Tuito, in the mountains and Cabo Corrientes as the southern point of Banderas Bay, all the way to Barra de Navidad. SUB-REGIONS: Barra de Navidad, Carreyes, Costalegre.
The towns of the Sierra Madre are some of Jalisco's oldest communities. SUB-REGIONS: Mascota, San Sebastián del Oeste, Talpa de Allende.
