Puerto Vallarta Roaming Reporter

April, 2006: As the demand for residential properties continues to grow exponentially, the response in Banderas Bay has been resounding and confident. High-end projects, as well as developments for working professionals and families, were inaugurated during the past month, indicating a broader focus beyond vacation or investment properties. By Josef Kandoll

March, 2006: It’s been a couple of hectic months since I’ve produced the Roaming Reporter column. Now the season is not only well under way, it’s actually in its period of saturation. By Josef Kandoll

November, 2005: If it’s not already a trend, it certainly should be. I’m talking about ecologically-sound developments and environmentally-conscious projects in the Banderas Bay area. Now that’s not to automatically say that a development without that consciousness is anti-environment. By Josef Kandoll

October, 2005: The second entrance to Nuevo Vallarta (going north) purportedly is being prepared for a commercial center. It would be a much-needed addition to the north end of Banderas Bay, where shopping is particularly scarce. By Josef Kandoll

September, 2005: This summer I moved to a new area of the city, one that I didn’t really know prior to the move. The neighborhood was built in the fields of a swampy area some eight to 10 years ago, so the homes are larger than the small ones they seem to be building now for professionals. By Josef Kandoll

August, 2005: Summer is certainly the time for infrastructure this year. By Josef Kandoll

July, 2005: Summer is always a good time of the year to review the past season, while continuing to look ahead at the coming months. By Josef Kandoll

June, 2005: If it’s not already a trend, it certainly should be. I’m talking about ecologically-sound developments and environmentally-conscious projects in the Banderas Bay area. Now that’s not to automatically say that a development without that consciousness is anti-environment. By Josef Kandoll

May, 2005: As the season winds to a close, there are many who happily take back the streets of our town. By Josef Kandoll

April, 2005: The face of downtown Puerto Vallarta changed dramatically during the early hours of March 10, when the controversial Hidalgo Park project began with the encircling of the area with a cyclone fence. By Josef Kandoll

March, 2005: Interesting things are happening as the current city administration heads into its second year. A combination of setbacks, scandals and kudos keep the mayor on the front pages even as he promises to make at least one promotional trip for Puerto Vallarta each month. By Josef Kandoll

February, 2005: With the holidays came an outpouring of gifts and much-needed attention for areas of economic hardship in the Banderas Bay area. Possibly high emotions resulted from the bombardment of images from the tsunami that hit Southeast Asia, but the real estate community tends to be ever responsive to needs in the community. By Josef Kandoll

January, 2005: One of the first open houses of the new season was hosted by Nicole Martin of Prudential Realty at Villas Montemar in Conchas Chinas. By Josef Kandoll
