Consistent consumer protection clauses must be included in purchase contracts for condo developments, according to Tere Kimball, President of A.M.P.I. Riviera Nayarita, the North Bay chapter of the Mexican Association of Professional Realtors.
Kimball is also Broker/Partner for Prudential California Realty, Vallarta Division. She made the announcement at the organization’s monthly breakfast meeting on Thursday, August 30, attended by 38 Bay area real estate agents. “On behalf of their clients, real estate agents active in the Bay of Banderas must also do their homework on new condo developments and builder reputations,” said Kimball. The three Bay area A.M.P.I. chapters are working closely together to promote consumer protection as well as to establish simple guidelines for commission structures and other requirements that need to be regulated. Kimball also said that Infonavit is offering A.M.P.I members the opportunity to be certified to sell low income Infonavit housing. The certification will require a simple one and a half hour course on learning Infonavit credit procedures and guidelines.
