It includes a number of new developments as well as a couple of established ones that are taking on a second wind as prices rise on this fantastic stretch of sandy beaches and coves. While some areas offer beachfront, others provide oceanfront or ocean-view with numerous options for a luxurious but laid-back lifestyle.

The North Shore includes a number of different high-end developments, the infrastructure for each one being handled separately, which also makes it move along more slowly. Security is a main concern as properties reaching several millions of dollars are not uncommon.

Most developments are designing developments that blend with the terrain while minimizing landscaping to maintain the natural surroundings as much as possible. The newer homes tend to have as much living space outdoors as indoors with spectacular views of the bay and beyond. The respect of the environment makes the North Shore a favorite for weddings and other special events. While transportation for groups can stretch the budget, privacy is guaranteed as are safety and security concerns.

The number of developments along this coast makes it difficult to name the all. However, for the most part low density and high quality is consistent throughout the region. Punta Mita is probably the most well-known, situated at the very end of the point of the bay, and it has set the pace and stage for the quality of real estate development along this coastline. However, as some of the new developments have been coming online, they all seems to want to push the bar up even further. And, as the quality goes up, so does the price - this is some of the most expensive real estate available around the bay.
